The National Diploma in Business (Level 6) builds on knowledge gained in the Level 5 course, extending a student's depth and breadth of appreciation and understanding of business operations and management processes and systems.

Upon successful completion of this diploma course you will be awarded the National Diploma in Business (Level 6).

Completion of National Diploma in Business (Level 5) or equivalent. English Language Requirement: IELTS 5.5
Students who do not meet these entry requirements will need to complete the school's entry test prior to enrolment being confirmed.

120 NQF credits distributed across 8 papers (4 papers per academic semester see below)

Credit exemption of up to 40 credits can be granted for selected New Zealand Diploma of Business papers.
Credit may also be granted by recognition of prior learning or current competency.
Student must submit original documentation and may be required to complete a school's challenge test to confirm prior learning.

You will have to pass all 6 papers (see below) to be awarded the qualification.

*DB 504 Accounting

Unit 11624 A person is able to explain the objectives and limitations of analysis of financial statements; calculate ratios to measure profitability, asset utilisation, working capital management, long-term financial stability, and financial markets; report to management on the results of financial analysis; and demonstrate and apply knowledge of the solvency test.

Unit 25940 A person is able to explain the role of management accounting, apply the processes for controlling and allocating costs, prepare a variance report for a standard costing system and apply short-term decision-making techniques in mgmt. accounting

*DB 505 Marketing

Unit 2927 A person is able to identify ethical issues and professional codes and analyse social, cultural and ethical responsibilities for marketing activities

Unit 2931 A person is able to complete situational analysis, identify marketing objectives and develop an operational plan for a marketing campaign

Unit 2935 A person is able to: analyse the inter-relationships of elements of the marketing mix; determine variables of the marketing mix for specific market segments; and coordinate and monitor marketing mix decisions.

*DB 606 Business Relationships

Unit 7455 A person is able to develop, implement and review customer service standards, monitor and review customer services against standards, and build customer relationships.

Unit 7456 A person is able to develop strategic sourcing agreements with selected suppliers, and enhance supplier relationships for mutual benefit.

DB 607 Organisational Strategy 1

Unit 25464 A person is able to, in relation to enhancing employee learning and development: develop a workplace strategy; promote a supportive environment; manage the processes for determining needs; monitor the implementation of the delivery processes; facilitate feedback on effectiveness of processes and outcomes; and evaluate feedback on effectiveness of outcomes.

Unit 9735 A person is able to demonstrate knowledge of theory of organisation, motivation, and leadership in relation to management in organisations.

DB 608 Business Environment

Unit 23912 A person is able to conduct an environmental analysis for an organisation.

Unit 6412 A person is able to: identify the core elements of business franchise ventures; determine the essential requirements for establishing franchise business operations; and evaluate franchise proposals.

DB 610 Organisational Strategy 2

Unit 7445 A person is able to identify and evaluate the financial and physical risks within the business context, and to establish and monitor loss control policies and procedures for the treatment of financial and physical risks.

Unit 7449 A person is able to contribute to organisational strategy development.

Unit 25778 A person is able to identify context to be taken into account when managing risk; develop a risk management framework in an organisation; assess risks in an organisation; and identify options for the treatment of risks, and monitor treatments.
Credit Transfer

It is possible that you may already have studied, or gained other experience, in some of the things that are taught at QAG. In this case, you may be eligible to gain credits through recognition of prior learning or current competency.

Students who wish to have other previous studies considered for credit transfer must submit original documents. Students may also be require dto complete a school's challenge test to confirm prior learning.
