About the Programme

This qualification was designed by NZ Institute of Management and the Aviation, Travel and Tourism  Training Organisation to assist students and those already working in the tourism industry to become qualified to work in more senior positions. The programme allows students to complete compulsory papers alongside optional papers as well as completing a tourism research project within a tourism business.

The course is divided into three sections, with each being completed in one semester. In the first semester students complete three compulsory papers and in the second three papers are selected for study. The student chooses these from a selected list. In the final semester student whjo have successfully completed the previous work will complete the final compulsory paper and the research project. Students will be placed in a tourism business and the project will meet this business’ needs..

This programme is approved and accredited by NZQA.

Entry Requirements

  • A minimum age of 18 years plus 4 years secondary schooling (NCEA-Level 2) or be a mature student aged 20
  • Proof of residency, citizenship or visa status
  • IELTS band score of 5.5 or equivalent (International Students only)

Further Study

  • NZ Diploma in Business
  • Degree in Business or similar
